In association with TU Dublin and MTU Cork we run an apprenticeship programme for Freight Forwarding personnel. The apprenticeship gives people who do not have relative industry experience the opportunity to become trained professionals within the Logistics industry.

Our program is a workplace and educational-based training system focused on developing the individual skills of every apprentice to grow their personal career whilst contributing to the future success of DB Schenker and the logistics industry.
Eligibility Criteria:
Apprentices must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following LAA programme entry criteria:
• H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics.
• Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc)
• Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Structure & Duration
This 2-year apprenticeship is standards-based, comprising of 1-day release to 3rd Level education during regular college semesters, culminating in annual examinations leading to a QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate in Logistics
