Job Description:
As a Logistics Apprentice, you will work closely with our experienced logistics professionals to learn and develop the necessary skills to thrive in the industry. This apprenticeship program is designed to provide you with comprehensive training and hands-on experience across various aspects of our logistics operations.
A hybrid role involving 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. On occasion, a candidate will need to work evenings and on Saturdays.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating and monitoring the transportation and delivery of goods to ensure smooth and timely operations.
- Learn to analyse and optimize logistical processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including warehouse, procurement, ferry booking for hauliers and customer service, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Gain knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Assist in monitoring and assessing suppliers’ and service providers’ performance to maintain high-quality standards.
- Develop a solid understanding of transportation modes, routing, and logistics software systems.
- Support the team in resolving any logistical issues or challenges that arise.
- Embrace a proactive approach to learning and participate in training courses as required.
Qualifications:
- Leaving certificate or equivalent (minimum QQI Level 5).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Good organizational and time management abilities.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges, along with the flexibility to work in different areas of the organisation.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work tasks.
